Clones Microsoft Word. Alpha (v0.10.0). Church use: Sermon manuscripts, letters, .docx exchange. Official downloads ONLY from github.com/storytold/<app>/releases or getartcraft.com; fake look-alike download sites have been reported, so verify the URL. Legal: clean-room reimplementation is generally lawful, but trade-dress/ToS/patent questions vs Adobe/Microsoft/Autodesk/Avid are untested (ask your lawyer before relying on it for ministry work). Alpha software: keep backups and test file round-trips.
Best for: Sermon manuscripts, letters, .docx exchange
Pros: Free, no subscription; Commands for 97% of its catalogued ribbon/menu features (README)
Cons: README itself says only ~55–63% ready for typical weekly work; 1,617 open issues; Legal/trade-dress uncertainty; Fake download sites
