FilmCraft (ArtCraft) pricing

Clones Adobe Premiere Pro. Alpha (v0.12.0). Church use: Video editor: sermon clips, captions (SRT/WebVTT), announcement videos. Official downloads ONLY from github.com/storytold/<app>/releases or getartcraft.com; fake look-alike download sites have been reported, so verify the URL. Legal: clean-room reimplementation is generally lawful, but trade-dress/ToS/patent questions vs Adobe/Microsoft/Autodesk/Avid are untested (ask your lawyer before relying on it for ministry work). Alpha software: keep backups and test file round-trips.

Best for: Video editor: sermon clips, captions (SRT/WebVTT), announcement videos

Pros: Free, no subscription; Captions with frame-exact SRT/WebVTT; native Mac/Win/Linux + web

Cons: Alpha; montage export ~2 min vs 8 s in Premiere in one test; weak audio cleanup; 1,510 open issues; Legal/trade-dress uncertainty; Fake download sites

Pros

• Cleaner-looking auto captions than Premiere in one test source
• Handles basic cuts, transitions, LUTs and color source

Cons

• Montage export took ~2 min vs 8 s in Premiere; weaker audio cleanup source
• Mistranscribed numbers and missed requested font source
• Struggles with 10-bit 4:2:2 / 4K footage; no Premiere project compatibility source
